Michigan’s Leading Job and Economic Growth Creators Again Endorse Bill Schuette for Governor

Michigan Farm Bureau’s AgriPAC endorses Bill Schuette and Lisa Posthumus Lyons and their Paycheck Agenda for income and economic growth

LANSING – The voice of Michigan’s $100 billion agriculture industry, the Michigan Farm Bureau, has endorsed Bill Schuette and Lisa Posthumus Lyons for governor and lieutenant governor, the Bill Schuette for Governor campaign today announced.

“There’s a reason Mr. Schuette received MFB’s highest honors as a state senator with the Silver Plow award, and as a member of the U.S. House with the Golden Plow award, in supporting our policies,” said MFB President Carl Bednarksi.

“Along with his support of Right to Farm, he’s for removing barriers to agricultural trade through infrastructure investments. He understands that career and technical education plays a vital role in K-12 education. He’s keenly aware of the need for a strong ag processing industry in our state through the expansion of Ag Processing Renaissance Zones. And he supports the idea of Michigan’s agriculture, environmental quality and natural resources departments working together to create consistent policies that remove unnecessary and burdensome regulations,” Bednarski concluded.

The Michigan Farm Bureau’s AgriPAC announced its endorsement of Schuette and Posthumus Lyons earlier today.  The Michigan Farm Bureau is the leading voice of Michigan’s agriculture industry, which employs nearly one million people—about 22% of Michigan’s workforce.  Agriculture in Michigan contributes more than $100 billion to Michigan’s economy, with associated food processing generating another $25 billion on overall economic activity.  Michigan has more than 50,000 farms and is America’s leading producer of blueberries, tart cherries, dry black beans, squash, and more.

“Lisa Posthumus Lyons and I are so proud to have the support of AgriPAC in our campaign to serve as Michigan’s next governor and lieutenant governor.  The Michigan Farm Bureau is one of Michigan’s preeminent economic organizations, representing one of our absolutely key industries that we will prioritize in our Paycheck Agenda for more jobs and growth,” said Schuette.

“The Whitmer-Gilchrist agenda is a far-left plan for more regulations, more taxes, and more fees, threatening Michigan’s Right to Farm laws and endangering the entire industry’s success, something that would take Michigan back to the Lost Decade. We aren’t going back, we are going to take Michigan forward,” said Posthumus Lyons.

Schuette’s campaign is supported by a growing number of Michigan leaders

Bill Schuette is gaining support nearly every day, with Michigan families and leaders supporting his Paycheck Agenda as the path to making Michigan a growth state for population and paychecks.
